BZ: The ups and down hmm. Well the ups must be that its great to feel your good at something when you get a awsome job like posing for FHM, Maxim etc. But the downers must be the war between models , instead of being nice and helping eachother they talk bad about the other girls and try to kill their carrer. Nationality: Trinidadian
Genre of Music: R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Reggae, Soca
MySpace: www.myspace.com/Ladyprestige
Statement:
What strikes me about music is the passion and love that I have for it. My music reflects my life and general life experiences. I love the peculiarity of a good life, its frankness and its beauty. My strength of mind and surroundings encourages me to write beautiful heart-felt songs. To me music is life, “My Life”.
Biography:
Jamelia has been singing since the tender age of 12 in her home country of Trinidad and Tobago. Jamelia, who is also a student, comes from a musical family. Being that she is the only female artist in the family, she is the most endearing. Making it as a female artist today is not easy because there are so many obstacles thrown in the way. From performing in schools across the US, doing live shows, writing and in performance, she is determined and willing to go the distance Not too long ago she hooked up with Desert Storm; there she recorded her first single in titled “Don’t Say good Bye”. She was on tour with childhood friend Magz. She was special appearance at every live show and school that the rapper performed at, along side DJ Poun, Jay Z’s 40/40 Club DJ. She is featured on numerous mix tapes in the US & UK. Her songs Don’t Say Good-Bye, Haters Clocking Me, and Sweet Loving has and is still in heavy rotation on radio stations across the US & Canada and outside the US as well. It’s not off beam to say that she is luminous, original, passionate, and stern. With influences and inspirations like Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Anita Baker, Xscape, Bob Marley, and Tanya Stephens I would agree. She describes herself as melodic, dynamic and passionate when coming to her craft. As of now, she is in the studio working on a couple of new projects.

Mos Def to release album this summer
by EJah on Jun.06, 2009, under Artists, News
If rappers of today want to keep it real and need someone to look up too. Mos Def would be that man. Lyrically awesome, culturally aware and damn he can act for real too. Most rappers act, but don’t do great jobs, he seems like he took classes or something. But since Mos came out, he always had lyrics that sound good, has a good flow and makes you think about what he says. Goes against the grain of the latest Hip Hop format, that’s the irony, Hip Hop isn’t supposed to have formats. Hip Hop is supposed to be an expression of yourself through where you’re from and what you been through. Not everyone in the world is a gangsta or Don Juan. Through all the 50 Cent and Jay Z wanna bees, here’s Mos Def with the reallness. True magic released in ’06 was his last album, it was a wonderful effort and showed the lyrical greatness of the rapper. His new album which is titled, “The Estatic” set for release August 24th, 2009. The last few albums Mos released were good, some of his production choices weren’t that great. I guess he plans to change all of that this time because the producers he’s enlisted are all great so far. Chad Hugo (the other Neptune), Oh No, J Dilla, Mr Flash, Madlib, Preservation are just the producers I’ve heard about thus far. So his long awaited comeback should be chock full of good beats and rhymes.
Chamillionaire Quits Mixtapes
by EJah on Jun.06, 2009, under News
Now here’s a shocker, Chamillionaire quits mixtapes. Actually not so shocking since I’ve seen about 100 mixtapes from him since he first came out in 2005. He basically says that he’s tired of doing that and he has no plans to release the album that everyone has been waiting on titled “Venom.” He says Mixtape Messiah pt 7 is the last mixtape he has coming out ever. When talking about the album “Venom” this is what he had to say about that; “Fact. Venom isn’t gonna drop. It’s not coming out. I’m not dropped. Not depressed. I’m not sad. Just telling you what I’m thinking and what I’m gonna do. No press release about it. No label rep saying it. Straight from the boss’ mouth…Past dope concepts will go into my vault. Key locked thrown away. Except for a couple of these that could fit anywhere. The music should fit together and not sound like it’s all over the place.” Yeah I don’t really know what he’s talking about either. But whatever, maybe he shouldn’t smoke so much or get something a little less potent.
Redman Method Man “Blackout 2″ album review
by EJah on Jun.06, 2009, under Review
The new album by Red and Meth no doubt brings Hip Hop back to the day when Hip Hop was all good and pure. No doubt back to what, ’92 when Wu, Blackmoon, Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, Fat Joe and many more dope groups and MC’s were first on the scene and rockin’ no doubt. Blackout 2 is no doubt reminicent of these days sun! The last 3 albums from Method Man and the last few Wu Tang albums were terrible. The only reason Wu is still kickin’ is because of Ghostface, GZA and RZA. But the latest effort from Red and Meth are on point.
BO2 (intro)-
Horns blasting, Redman flowing and going off and Method Man doing his thing no doubt. Even as an into this song is nice. Reminds of some old Terminator X shit.
I’m Dope Nigga-
Down tempo beat with Red and Meth going off. You hear the Gangsta coming back out in Meth. Red just rocks the mic with his crazyness that we love. Great song.
A Yo (feat Saukrates)-
This is the first single from the album (check the video in the sidebar). This song is very hype and features Redman’s homie Saukrates adding mad flavor to this song. Probably the best song on the album. Hook by Saukrates has a reggae feel to it.
Dangerous MCees-
Nice beat, with piano riffs and a nice flow by both Red and Meth. Hook is mad cool can no doubt be played on the radio.
Errbody Scream (feat Keith Murray)-
Up tempo club banger with the hype beat that slows down and Keith Murray saying “When we in the house shit gets retarted.” Keith keeps track hype because he’s just a hype MC and help carry the track to dopeness.
Hey Zulu-
This track would be wack if not for Redman. The beat is nice but the played out Vocordor (think T Pain) makes the song sound like everyone elses song that’s out there now. But Red keeps this track no doubt hot. Thanks for the props to the Zulu nation.
City Lights (feat Bun B)-
Yeah I can’t say too much about this song. It’s a bit wack, it wouldn’t be so bad but Bun B messed the song all up. Meth sounded like he just woke up or something.
Fathers Day-
Love the ’70′s riff on this song. Your average Method Man and an average Redman. Song sounds good mostly because of the beat. Not very lyrically powerful but not bad though. Song is really good, like it very much.
Mrs International (skit)-
Funny skit with Redman shutting down the bickering women.
Mrs International (feat Eric Sermon)-
Slow tempo song with another ’70′s feel. But not only the beat is ’70′s but also the hook. I love it, no doubt blunt music.
How Bout Dat (feat Ready Roc and Streetlife)-
This song is a bit bland, Ready Roc has a great flow no doubt though. Probably what saved this song from wackness.
Dis Iz 4 All My Smokers-
Just exactly what the title suggest. A smokers song perfect for those Friday and Saturday night get togethers with your friends in the basement with the dutches and Xbox 360. Nice hook, a bunch of people in unison reciting the title of the song.
Lock Down (Skit) (Feat DJ Kayslay, C.O Ellis, Reggie Noble And Ready Roc)-
Jail house skit, that’s all I have to say about that (sounding like Forest Gump).
Four Minutes To Lock Down (Featuring Raekwon And Ghostface Killah)-
Posse cut (yeah the ’90′s) that Ghostface was making the song. Raekwon kind of blended in unnoticed though. Good song (not great though), could’ve been better with the line up they had.
Neva Herd Dis B4-
I guess every album has to have a wack song. The flows are good, but the beat and the hook make the song straight boring. Messed up some good rhymes.
I Know Sumptn (feat Poo Bear)-
Great beat, another club banger, the only bad thing is the played out vocordor by Poo Bear. But I’m sure if you bump this in the club it’ll bang.
A Lil’ Bit (feat Melanie Rutherford)-
The vocordor on this song is not of the played out kind. I like the song Melanie adds flavor to the song. She sounds mad sexy. Judge for yourself, check out her myspace page. ——–> www.myspace.com/melanierutherford
All and all I would give the album a nice 80% because of the overall feel of the album. Nice flows, sounds like Method Man is back on his game. Redman never lost it, Meth probably didn’t either he just needed some guidance and get away from them Wu Brothas.
Killa Cam keeps it real
by EJah on Jun.06, 2009, under News, Review
Cam’Ron keeps it real, with his taste in music. Recently asked by MTV what he bumps personally this was his reply, “To be honest, I’ve been listening to a variety of stuff. The last album I bought was Plies’ album. I like Plies a lot. Basically, being in Florida, you feel him even more when you’re in that atmosphere. [Lil] Wayne is my man. I got stuff like Jay-Z’s first album, Reasonable Doubt, [Nas'] infamous Illmatic, stuff that makes me think. [A lot of] new albums are like, ‘Eh, whatever.’ But I got a lot of ‘97, ‘98 stuff in my car, ‘96. Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. … I always listen to DeBarge. DeBarge is always in the loop. John Legend. Beyoncé’s new CD is in there. I do a lot of mixtape R&B stuff. I even got the Force M.D.s.” Yeah I have to agree with you, I’ve been hearing a lot of new stuff as blah also and really bumping the old skool too. Another thing we and Cam have in common is we both like Debarge. So with that said his latest album is good and not wack like his double album “Public Enemy #1.” His latest effort called “Crime Pays” came out May 12th, 2009. It’s a good (not great) album. I especially liked the song “Cookies and Apple Juice,” “Silky (No Home)” is mad funky. There’s 23 tracks on the CD
, 5 are skits. It’s a good purchase for the money. But if you don’t like Cams flow then you still won’t like this album, he really kills his studder-step-stop-and-go style (hahaha, that’s what I call it). All in all I give the album a 65% which is passing, but not great. Do ya thing sun! Oh yeah We’re also glad he took wack ass pink clothing off. Man that was really hurting your image back then.
Omarion Flack for only dating light-skinned women
by EJah on Jun.06, 2009, under Hip Hop Politics

Omarian catches hell for dating light-skinned women
Omarian recently recieved flack from fellow Twitter users on his Twitter site. A fan asked him why is it he only talks to light-skinned women. His reply was quoted as this (according to mediatakeout.com), “i talk 2 err1…but truthfully my moms is lightskin so im naturally attracted to women that look that way but ive had blackGF.” OK so he’s a momma’s boy, but that sounds like an honest answer of the type of women he likes. May be a bit biased, towards light women but it sounds like an honest answer to a question asked by a fan. Now check out the reply from another fan, “I’m so upset with this loop alien head lame a*s Omarion on his twitter a fan asked why he only spoke to models and light skin women and he says “oh because my mom is light skin.” Are you f*cking kiddin me. So I have to bleach my skin for you to notice me on twitter but I bet you notice me when I buy your damn next album which is a negative. I loved omarion sinse 2001, I was behind every step of the way of his solo career and now he’s picking favorite fans cause they’re light skin. When will these damn n*ggas see more then skin f*cking deep. Nigg*s get money and forget about the beautiful chocolate smooth skin mamas.” Wow, she really let him have it. But I’m really wondering, why would she get so mad, I think the question was why he only dates light-skinned women and not do you only talk to light-skinned women on Twitter. What I’m saying is, he has a right to date, talk to, sleep with or whatever the hell he wants to do. I’m light-skinned myself, I prefer dating dark-skinned women, does that make me a bad person for that. No I don’t think so, that just makes me a person who likes dark women. I’m saying whoever blasted O for that needs to get a grip. The next day after that, Omarian’s Twitter site was deleted.
Eminem Sells 608,000 albums in a week
by EJah on Jun.05, 2009, under News
As wack as Eminem is (not wack lyrically, I mean just wacked out of his mind) his album “Relapse” sold more than
608,000 copies in the first week of release. Wow! That’s crazy, especially in this day an age of the internet sharing and downloads. But this is his first album in almost 5 years. He beat out the group Greenday for the number one spot on the charts. I’m really impressed because a real group like Greenday got bumped. They sold 166,000 copies that week and 215,ooo copies when the album was released. Still showing the power of Hip Hop over the music industry. This is Em’s 5th straight number one album he released. Shocking since his lyrical skills diminished every album since his first release. But I guess his ill persona, problems he’s been going through and ill lyrical skills kept him going. Like if you listen to his songs, they all sound like any other stupid pop song they play on the radio, with some witty lyrics, funny euphorisms and great word play keep him on top of his game. But isn’t it ashame that he rocks the Hip Hop world over everyone when he hasn’t made an album in 5 years and all the vets and newby’s with all the props they get can’t touch him. What’s good now, is Soulja Boy Slim not that hot any more? I’m really stumped when there’s so much good music out there and the hottest rappers on the charts are Eminem and Soulja Boy Slim. WTF?
Rihanna to testify against Chris
by EJah on Jun.05, 2009, under News

The couple performing together during happier times
On June 22nd Rihanna has been summoned to testify against Chris Brown at
his trial for aleggedly beating her up before an awards show where she was supposed to perform. Can he really be guilty for beating up someone as fine as her. I think I’m just in denial. But the June 22nd, 2009 court date is a preliminary hearing to see if there’s enough evidence to proceed with the trial for battery against her. She is also subject to cross examination by Chris’ lawyer too. Hope she can hold her own, you know how them high price lawyers can be. Chris’ lawyer also wanted to get info from police records to find out who leaked the photo of her all beat up, the judge said no because it had nothing at all to do with the trial at hand. I imagine this is not the last we will hear about this photo unless it’s found there’s not enough info to proceed. If he is found guilty of this crime he can face 4 years in the slammer. Oh man, if that’s the case, let’s hope he doesn’t do hard time. He may get beat up or worse from fellow prisoners for beating up the most gorgeous Rihanna. I’d sure hate it for him. So let me know what you think of this case because I’m in denial, no one would beat up some that fine, she must have fell and hit a door knob.
C-Murder Gets 10 Years
by EJah on Jun.05, 2009, under News
Back in 2002, C-Murder (aka Corey Miller from the Master P camp) got into a fight in a New Orleans club. A 16 year old died as a result of this fight. Uh what was a 16 year old doing in a club, aren’t most clubs 21 and older, the one’s that aren’t are usually 18 and older. Any way, in 2003 he was tried and sentenced to life in prision. In 2006 he was granted a retrial since the prosecutor withheld information regarding witnesses (lucky mo fo). He’s been on house arrest ever since. His 2009 trial never happened because he took a plea deal for 10 years. Probably out in 4 or 5 years. Seems like he’s been in trouble a few times in his life. I guess millions of dollars doesn’t change the inner-gangsta in people huh. Well hopefully he can stay out of trouble this time. Because in 2001 he fired shots at an owner and bouncer of a club who wouldn’t let him in. He was sentenced to 10 years and got time served for that incident. Damn sun! In 10 years I’m going to let you in any party you want in order to not get shot. How the hell did he get away with that! Oh well I guess money gives you a lot of perks.
