2009 Grammy Awards brings now Kanye West Drama, but other controversies steamed from Kanye West. Before I say this let me remind you Beyonce won 6 awards for the evening. When Taylor Swift’s Fearless beat Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce for album of the year, Twitter and Facebook were blowing up regarding this. Everyone was online chatting about how Kanye West made Swift famous and she would’ve never won that award if not for him. I’m sorry to burst people’s bubble, but Swift was famous way before Kanye made an ass of himself at the Video awards. She just wasn’t famous to us, I don’t know what it is about Country music, I hardly know anyone (white friends included) who say that they like Country music, but that music has been burning the charts up for years. Granted it’s taken a back seat to Hip Hop in the last several years, but I remember back in the 90′s Garth Brooks had three albums in the Billboard top 200 albums at one time. So this is nothing new, plus Beyonce won 6 damn Grammys, just because she didn’t win album of the year people weren’t satisfied it’s a shame. What’s even more of a shame is that Kanye West’s ignorance at the video awards is still taking shine away from artists. But all in all the Grammy Awards were boring and they played the same music we heard all year over and over, just like all the award shows. They should think about getting creative on these shows because they’re putting me to sleep. One great thing about the Grammys this year, Mos Def was nominated for best rap album for his album The Estatic.

Beyonce and Swift both did good at the Grammys, so what's the problem?!?
Black Eye Peas Biting?!?
by EJah on Feb.02, 2010, under Artists, Music, News
Don’t get me wrong I’m not a huge fan of Black Eye Peas music lately, especially if you compare the groups music to
when they first came out. They remind me of the 2000′s version of Young MC, but their first album reminded me of a late 90′s version of the new Tribe Called Quest. But now their latest hit single Boom Boom Pow sounds exactly like a bite from a Chicago artist named Phoenix Phenom, Boom Dynamite. According to Phoenix, her and her manager sent a copy of Boom Dynamite to BEP back in 2007. In Jan 2008 she posted the video of her song in a cheerleaders uniform with her very sexy self (Chicago women are hot son!). March 2009 Boom Boom Pow came out and spent 12 weeks at the number one position. Now I posted her video below so you can hear it, but the hook sounds almost identical to Boom Boom Pow, except for the word Dynamite. It’s ridiculous how BEP could just ignore a struggling artists and make money off of someones hard work. To me they would have kept it real if they either made the record with Phoenix, hired her as a writer or signed the artist and let her make the record. As of right now, I’ve lost all respect for BEP and they are straight foul for this. I know no one will because all people care about is the latest video on MTV or the number one song on Billboard, but we should boycott them until they apologize and pay the artist for their blatant music jacking.
