Game Dies Rumor
by EJah on Jun.21, 2010, under News
Whoever started the rumor that rapper The Game was shot in the head and died is so wrong for that. Game denies the rumor of course, and is probably on Twitter right now chatting about it. Game’s R.E.D. Album is coming out Aug 21st, 2010.

Aubrey Louis Berry accused killer of rapper Dolla
Accused murder Aubrey Louis Berry in court is accused of killing rapper Dolla and then retrieving his car and driving around the body. Audrey’s defense lawyer claims self defense and say Louis was threatened by Dolla. The accounts of the opening statements say the two had a fight two weeks before his murder at a strip club in Atlanta, where they both lived. By chance they were both at a valet area of the Beverly Center mall in LA on May 18, 2009. Deputy District Attorney Robert Grace told the jury Berry fired 8 shots at Dolla and his friends, 4 of which hit him, 3 of the bullets in the back as he tried to run. Afterward Berry drove his car around Dolla’s body has he laid on the ground dying. Wow! That’s going to be hard to argue self defense. Dolla, who’s real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II was an artist that Akon was putting out, he already had two songs with Akon. Dolla was in the studio working on his studio album and touring at the time of his death. Such a shame, another Hip Hopper dies. But Dolla didn’t even get a chance to really shine.
Gucci Mane Fires Manager And Launches His Own Label
by EJah on May.04, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop Politics, News
Gucci Mane is doing a lot from Jail these days. He recorded an album (well at least one song from jail) and n0w he fires
his manager Debora Antey and left Mizay Entertainment. He also cut loose his promoter Johnnie Campbell and Hitt Afta Hitt Enterprises. He is also leaving So Icey Entertainment label and launching his own label, 1017 Brick Squad Records Inc. He told AllHipHop.com, “The rest of 2010 is going to be real major. I’m taking control of all of my business properties and keeping the focus on my career, my music and my artists. All the pieces to the puzzle are finally in place and once I get home it’s Gucci time.” He is now being managed by First Avenue Management, with David Bolno, Managing Director at Nigro, Karlin, Segal & Feldstein as the manager of his business affairs. CAA will now handle his show bookings. Seems like Gucci is cleaning up his act all together as I have the same confidence he’ll clean up his act as he is released from jail. Well this is the second time in a month that Debora Antey has been fired, she was also fired by Nicki Minaj for not getting her paperwork in order to go on tour with Rihanna.
Chicago Bringing In The National Guard To Help With Crime
by EJah on Apr.28, 2010, under Hip Hop Politics, News
Chicago is basically bringing in martial law by bringing in the National Guard to help curb the violence. If you read an earlier post regarding Chicago violence that I wrote, you will get an understanding of what the Chicago community is going through (41-people-shot-in-50-hours-in-chicago). Chicago must stop the violence, they’re not calling it martial law, but it sure sounds like it to me. Maybe martial law without the curfew. Sad world we’re living in.
Afeni Shakur Tupacs Moms Arrested For Drug Possesion
by EJah on Apr.28, 2010, under News
Afeni Shakur was arrested in North Carolina for drug possession on April 16th, 2010. Afeni Shakur famed mother of Tupac and Ex-Black Panther member was charged with felony possession of Marijuana, simple possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance in Lumberton, NC. Her fight with drug use was mentioned by Tupac in the song Dear Mama. When I first heard about this, I thought is was going to be some serious drug that she was caught with. It was just marijuana, even though the charges sound serious, she’ll most likely get a misdemeanor charge. Afeni is currently out on $10,000 bond and is due back in court on May 10th. Seems the police don’t have anything better to do in NC then to arrest old ladies for marijuana possession. I guess they should send them out to Chicago to help with the violence problem then.
Biggie Smalls Wrongful Death Lawsuit Dismissed
by EJah on Apr.20, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop Politics, News
The long and ongoing wrongful death lawsuit has been dismissed against the City of Los Angeles. A lawyer for the Biggie estate, Bradley C. Gage claims the dismissal of this case can prompt arrests in the ‘97 shooting of Biggie Smalls. The case was dismissed on April 5th, 2010 after the Biggie’s estate and the city said the case can be opened at a later date. The wrongful death lawsuit included allegations that the LAPD had something to do with the murder of Mr Smalls. Biggie, who’s birth name was Christopher Wallace, was 24 when he died and at the pinnacle of his career when he was gunned down in March 1997 after returning from a party. The lawsuit first filed in 2002, was declared a mistrial in 2005 after the city was found to withhold evidence of LAPD documents. Family members say that this case isn’t about money it’s about finding out the truth behind his murder. I don’t know but it seems like if it was someone else the killer would’ve been tracked down, found, arrested and tried already. Like KRS 1 said, if you wanna get away with murder, kill a rapper.

Nas, Damian Marley And Usher Cancel Tour Due To Volcano In Iceland
by EJah on Apr.19, 2010, under Artists, Events, News
Nas and Damian Marley are coming out with an album Distant Relatives, along with the album was to be a tour. The tour
had to be canceled because of the Volcano that erupted in Iceland pretty much messing things up all across Europe. They were supposed to perform in London on April 21st, but have to cancel because of the air conditions. The volcano has been dormant for over 200 years. Eye witnesses say they saw eruptions as high as 100 meters. Usher was also supposed to do a promotional tour in the UK to promote his new song OMG, but had to cancel also. Hoping that the air clears up over Europe soon.
Kat Stacks and Nelly On The Radio
by EJah on Apr.19, 2010, under Artists, News
By now everyone knows who Kat Stacks is, the new Hip Hop groupie who sleeps with all the rappers and then tells all of
their business on website and books. Sounds like a new Superhead for 2010. So here she is on Shade 45 radio live on the air talking to a caller on the phone and it turns out that the caller is really Nelly whom Kat was saying she was with for a while sleeping around when he comes to FLA. But this turns ugly because Nelly was straight up calling her a liar and Kat was calling Nelly a liar, it turns out hard to tell who’s lying because they both sound like their lying. Especially Nelly because he was going in on her so hard. Why in the world would an entertainer sleep with this gal when they know she’s going to come out and tell all. Kat is fine, but not that fine. She’s just so proud of herself for sleeping with several celebrities, seems happy to be a rappers jump off. But check out the interview with Nelly and Kat going off on each other on the radio.
Jay Z Suing David Ortiz Over 40/40 Name
by EJah on Apr.16, 2010, under Hip Hop Politics, News
David Ortiz from the Boston Red Sox has a club in the Dominican Republic called the 40/40 club. Everyone knows Jay Z has clubs in NY, Atlantic City and Las Vegas named the 40/40 Club. The lawsuit claims that Ortiz cannot claim ignorance to the name because he’s been a guest at the 40/40 Club before, Jay Z is suing for $5 million. This lawsuit shouldn’t hold water because first of all 40/40 club is originally used for baseball players who hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in one season. So should Major League Baseball sue Jay Z for using the 40/40 Club as a name too. It just doesn’t make sense, Jay Z has been known for his business sense but this is taking it a bit too far. What the heck is Ortiz using the name 40/40 Club for his business any way, he never stole 40 bases in his life?!?
Eminem Changes Name Of Album To Drop In June
by EJah on Apr.16, 2010, under Artists, Music, News
Emimen announced he wasn’t going to drop the album Relapse 2 this year. Instead he’s changing the name of the
album to Recovery. Eminem explains what brought the change on.
“I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year.” But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.”
Yeah that makes sense, the album is supposed to drop on June 22nd. Confirmed producers so far, Just Blaze, Boi-1da, Jim Jonsin and DJ Khalil. Hope this album is better than Relapse from last year, I didn’t think that was very good and it didn’t make a lot of noise in the industry. Is Em’s hype dead for good, I guess we’ll see in June.

Nas Cleaned Out By Kelis
by EJah on Apr.14, 2010, under News
My goodness, divorce court is going mad on Nas. Nas was ordered to pay $250,000 in spousal, child support and legal
fees to Kelis in their divorce case that isn’t even finished yet. LA Superior Court order Nas to pay $47,249.42 in back child support, $40,454 in back spousal support and 90% of her legal fees of $155,787.28. Daaaaamn sun, that’s a whole lot of money what the heck is that child eating and what is the child wearing?!? Nas also has to pay $10,000 a month to his former wife. Nas must also pay Kelis accounting fee of $48,549.83. Holy hell, what is this world coming too, is Nas really that rich?!? Doesn’t Kelis have her own money from her career. She’s supposed to drop an album Flesh Tones in July. Nas is to drop an album with Damien Marley entitled Distant Relatives in May.
Plies Got Offended For Being Called Smart
by EJah on Apr.11, 2010, under Artists, News
Plies came on Angela Yee’s radio show to discuss what’s going on with him etc. At first he was doing his thing, plugging
himself and doing his interview well and sounding articulate. Then some fool caller calls in and ask him if it was true he was Valedictorian in school and his brother was the real thug. What, the caller sounded stupid because thugs can be smart, there’s no rule that you have to be book dumb and street smart. As a matter of fact if you’re book smart, it’ll make your street smarts IQ even higher. Plies gets up there and denies that with some off the wall answer. Plies, why didn’t you just say you were smart in school but you still keep it mad gully? WTF, go and check out the interview for yourself. Why does he have to keep using the N-word so much any way?
Khia Goes In On Nicki Minaj
by EJah on Apr.10, 2010, under Hip Hop, News
This is from Vibe.com people, Khia (I didn’t know she was fine like that) goes off on Nicki Minaj on her Vibe.com and on her quite famous blog. Check it…..
VIBE.COM: Many folks don’t think it’s a coincidence that photos from your new video came out a few weeks after you were taking shots at Nicki Minaj. She recently did a UStream video talking about how haters use her for publicity, what do you say?
KHIA: Publicity stunt? Honey, what do I need publicity for? I’m a talker, I’m a blogger, I’m controversial, I’m a creative writer, I’m a damn s**tstarter, but this isn’t for publicity at all, this is the industry. And I’m glad she didn’t mention my name on that UStream. That would’ve been bad. Everybody knows that I’m against the Barbie thing. I’ve always been real. My hair is as nappy as an African after a rainstorm. We’re all beautiful just the way we are. I’m against the butt shots. I’m not into the wigs. I’m not into the Barbies. No.
I’d rather listen to my husband Weezy, than hear [Nicki] talking about what sounds good to Lil Wayne. She’s in the studio with men writing her shit, saying it’s hot, but only because it’s what they want to jack off to. She doesn’t make music for girls. It’s a difference when I say ‘My neck, my back, my p***y, my crack,’ because it’s my own. You should be making men bow down. I respect myself. Love yourself, hoe.
But if [Nicki] was talking about me, that was so cute. Right now, I’m in the lead. You can be a feature whore and when it’s your time to drop, you’ll have nothing to drop. Your single is horrible, your voice is annoying and they’ve heard it too much. Sit down, contemplate your album and give us something wonderful. What makes [Nicki] think that Rihanna is going to let her headline her tour with all of these features? Are they going to be on stage with you Nicki, honey? I need to do a seminar to help this girl. I’ll acknowledge she has a hot song, when I write it [laughs]. Sean Garrett wrote [“Massive Attack”]? I think she needs to call me.
Malcom McLaren Dies
by EJah on Apr.09, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, News

Malcolm McLaren
Malcom McLaren the self proclaimed inventor of Punk Rock died Thursday April, 8th in a hospital in Switzerland from mesothelioma. He was 64. Know most for managing the 70s punk rock bank the Sex Pistols, but us Hip Hoppers remember him more for his early 80’s smash Hip Hop hit with the World Famous Supreme Team, “Buffalo Girls.” The Supreme Team were a group of scratch and mix DJ’s from a radio station in NYC, WHBI that played Hip Hop early in the morning during the week in the early 80s when no other station would play too much Hip Hop at all (how many times was I tired staying up for this during school). So Malcolm hooked up with them made a Hip Hop scratch song from and old Country song and it took off. I think we can not only call him the inventor oh Punk Rock but the first white boy in Hip Hop. Check out the video for “Buffalo Girls” below and enjoy.
