B.o.B aka Bobby Ray, rapper out of Atlanta who has created quite a buzz in the past year or so is finally coming out with his long-awaited debut album.  B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray is the title, release date of 4.27.2010.  The album was orignally supposed to come out in May but due to his commercial success the date was pushed up.  In the past several years the south has put out a lot of music, some good a lot of garbage though.  Lately the south movement has been getting a bit tiring, the record labels have been making a mockery of the music and making a lot of clones.  Now here’s B.o.B. with a refreshing twist to the monotony of it all.  This album has a lot of REAL music on it, not just beats and rhymes.  He uses not your normal guest appearances, Bruno Mars, Lupe Fiasco, Hayley Williams of Paramore, T.I., Playboy Tre, Janelle Monae, Rivers Cuomo, Ricco Barrino and Eminem.  What?!?  That doesn’t sound like your normal guests on a Hip Hop record.  Well this is no normal Hip Hop record, sounds more like a mix of Rock, Hip Hop, Soul and Pop.  The music isn’t belligerent, not a lot of cursing and no drug dealing going on.  Wow, haven’t heard a Hip Hop album like that in a long time.  Like I said it’s refreshing to hear some happy music for a change with some good messages.  I wouldn’t mind letting my kids listen to this album.  There’s plenty of melodies and harmonies on the album, very impressed.  The only downfall of the album is it’s a bit tiring because it seems on some of the tracks he’s trying to hard to sound different and mix the genres up too much, but for the most it part it works and very well.  Did I mention the man can sing?!?  Stand out tracks 5th Dimension, Airplanes, Nothing On You and Past My Shades.  You can no doubt tell that he used to listen to Andre 3000 a lot back in his day.  All in all the album gets a nice 82% no doubt for originality!  Preview the music from his new album below…..

Emimen announced he wasn’t going to drop the album Relapse 2 this year.  Instead he’s changing the name of the album to Recovery.  Eminem explains what brought the change on.

“I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year.”  But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel  to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album.  The music  on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.”

Yeah that makes sense, the album is supposed to drop on June 22nd.  Confirmed producers so far, Just Blaze, Boi-1da, Jim Jonsin and DJ Khalil.  Hope this album is better than Relapse from last year, I didn’t think that was very good and it didn’t make a lot of noise in the industry.  Is Em’s hype dead for good, I guess we’ll see in June.

Suge Knight is still mad and Dr Dre apparently.  He made a video short a while back and is now coming out after editing and such.  Made by amateurs Jabari Henley and Shane Taylor, the film makes fun of Dre and Eminem.  The producer of the video Josh Sands had this to say about the film short, “Jabari and Shane came to me with this idea and said they could get Suge Knight on camera. I wasn’t convinced but then he just showed up. He was here for about two hours. He’s a very intimidating character, but a real natural in front of the camera.”  So he’s still mad at Dr, it looks like because he’s making way more money than he is since he left the company back in the 90’s.  Poor Suge, had Karma come mess with him.  He made this video a few weeks back then he gets into a car accident and looses his front teeth.  Man Karma really is a bitch huh?!?

Holy hell, what’s wrong with Eminem?!?  He went off on Mariah Carey for not recognizing him some kind of way.  Like back in the day they were f**ing and she denied it.  Now Eminem is mad, then Nick Cannon said some wack rhymes about Eminem on Twitter and Eminem made a full song about them.  Mariah made a video depicting Eminem in it.  Wow, I was in shock, when I hear the lyrics, I don’t think they should’ve went there with Em, because he’s lyrically brutal.  I’m going to post the lyrics but if you heard something about this beef I’m missing please comment.

As wack as Eminem is (not wack lyrically,  I mean just wacked out of his mind) his album “Relapse” sold more than 608,000 copies in the first week of release.  Wow!  That’s crazy, especially in this day an age of the internet sharing and downloads.  But this is his first album in almost 5 years.  He beat out the group Greenday for the number one spot on the charts.  I’m really impressed because a real group like Greenday got bumped.  They sold 166,000 copies that week and 215,ooo copies when the album was released.  Still showing the power of Hip Hop over the music industry.  This is Em’s 5th straight number one album he released.  Shocking since his lyrical skills diminished every album since his first release.  But I guess his ill persona, problems he’s been going through and ill lyrical skills kept him going.  Like if you listen to his songs, they all sound like any other stupid pop song they play on the radio, with some witty lyrics, funny euphorisms and great word play keep him on top of his game.  But isn’t it ashame that he rocks the Hip Hop world over everyone when he hasn’t made an album in 5 years and all the vets and newby’s with all the props they get can’t touch him.  What’s good now, is Soulja Boy Slim not that hot any more?  I’m really stumped when there’s so much good music out there and the hottest rappers on the charts are Eminem and Soulja Boy Slim.  WTF?
