There’s been a big debat about Wu Tang.  I needed to talk about this since one of the members who had one of their classic albums.  Wu Tang’s debut “Enter the Wu-Tang” was a ground breaking album, that was raw and every song on it was a banger.  Had a mixture of members that brought different aspects to the game, all of this behind a Kung Fu movie theme that every single Generation X Hip Hopper grew up watching (along with the rest of the world).  Any way there’s been some debate about what was the best Hip Hop album ever made, “Enter the Wu-Tang” always comes up, along with the Dr Dre’s “the Cronic.”  There are a few others when mentioning the best ever, but for the most part it always boils down to “the Cronic” and “Enter the Wu Tang” for most.  Both got 5 mics from the Source back in the day.  “Enter the Wu-Tang” originally got 4 but later they recanted (they were such sukas back in the day) and gave it 5 mics.  Now the through a bunch of medocrae and straight up wack albums by member, the clan came out with some super classics.  First Method Man’s “Tical,” Raekwon and Ghostface’s “Only Built for Cuban Links,” ODB’s “Return to the 36 Chambers,” GZA’s “Liquid Swords” and Ghostface’s “Supreme Clientel.”  One banger after another but in the meantime terrible Wu-Tang group and solo efforts for years.  It was apparent the world changing Wu-Tang clan has fallen off.  Only being kept relevant by artists such as Ghostface, Method Man and RZA doing various hot projects here and there.  As of today only Ghostface has been keeping it hot on wax for the most part.  The last Wu-Tang group album was good, but not great.  Now coming out is Rawkwon, doing an “Only Built for Cuban Links 2.”  What, that’s way too bold since Cuban Links 1 was such a classic album.  Hopefully this album won’t give the Cuban Links a bad name.  But for some reason I don’t think that’s going to be the case.  I think we should get hype about the new Cuban Links 2.  I don’t think the album will top or be better than the original, that would be a great accompishment, but it should bang.  He’s been busy beefing with Joe Budden for dissing Method Man, not an on wax beef but allegedly a backstage beef (that he is denying involment in, hard to keep up with Wu-Tang since they’re the deepest group around).  He seems to have found a new passion for the game and is trying to take it back to the streets.  There is one big difference between CL 1 and CL 2, part 2 will not feature the production of RZA due to scheduling conflicts, but supposedly producers who can challenge RZA’s production skills.  The rap game has changed since the release of the Cuban Links, rappers like Soulja Boy, Young Jeezy Gucci Mayne and others.  But if this album is in the shadow of the original it should be all good.  Hip Hop is going back the streets and out of the clubs with this one.Raekwon
